So sad to hear that my "ole" Army buddy passed away. I really enjoyed the almost daily phone calls with Lanny. Lanny was a strong man and he was VERY lucky to have a wife that is equally strong. Judy, I salute you for taking such wonderful care of Lanny. You are an amazing lady. Throughout Lanny's life, he dealt alot of bad luck and issues. But, with determination, he took on each day. We first met in 1974 at Fort Belvoir with the 437th MP CO. Fortunately for me, we maintained contact. A couple of years back, we along with another Proud Vet, Denny Silvers, got together at Gettysburg, PA. Lots of laughs, stories and sharing of life experiences. Indeed, Lanny lived an amazing life. Gonna miss ya, Lannyman! Love you "ole" Buddy.

I remember how much we teased each other. You pulled a big prank on me pretending to be a cop on the phone. I got you back by dedicating a song on the radio to Sugar Bear Baker. Boy were you upset. I loved you big guy. Easy riding!!

Lanny was an awesome person to work with and we had lots of laughs over the years. He spoke of his family with pride and he worked hard to give them everything he could. He was close to his mother she adored him and his help in life. He was always willing to help you out with anything and participated on social media groups just to get the retired and working ATC members together to reminisce about the good ole days! Rest in peace Sugar Bear you’ll be missed. Prayers raised for his loved ones and his loving caregiver.

A great co-worker and even greater friend. Lanny took care of many of us at CSTA/ATC. He will be missed deeply. May God be with his family.

Lanny was always such a colorful guy and he will be missed dearly! I loved our long discussions about bee keeping and farming over the years. Lanny was passionate about his beliefs and never hesitated to let you know where he stood on any subject. He will be remembered fondly.

Very Sorry for your loss. He was (1) of the few men that ever made an M1A1 tank fly. (Profile 4 Course APG, Md.) Great Guy!
