It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kraig Douglas Ward, who left this world far too soon on July 16, 2025, at the age of 34. Born on February 1, 1991, in Baltimore, MD, he was the eldest son of Tammy and Jimmy Ward.
Kraig was a gentle soul whose warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone lucky enough to know him. He had a quiet strength and an open heart that made people feel seen, safe, and valued.
A lover of music and self-taught musician, Kraig could often be found shredding sick riffs on the guitar. He had a deep curiosity about the world, especially history, and loved learning about the people and events that shaped it. As an avid gamer, Kraig found camaraderie among his peers and formed enduring friendships. He adored animals, particularly his fur babies, who brought him great comfort and companionship.
Above all else, Kraig cherished his family. He held a deep and abiding love for his parents, brother, nieces, grandparents, aunt, and especially his beloved partner Elizabeth, whose love and support lit up his life. He also treasured Elizabeth’s family, who welcomed him with open arms.
Kraig leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. His absence is a wound that words cannot mend, but his memory will live on in every note of music, every shared story, and every moment of quiet connection. He will be missed beyond words and remembered beyond measure.
In addition to his parents, Kraig is survived by his partner, Elizabeth Valladares; his brother, Brandan Ward; his nieces, Legna, Remy, and Camber Ward; his grandparents, Elizabeth and Gerald Bullock; and his aunt, Amy Jackson-Bullock (Lisa). He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jerry Helsel (Sharon), and paternal grandparents, Frank and Margaret Ward.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kraig’s honor to the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.
