Judy Sowers Manko, age 56, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Heartland Hospice at St. Francis in Wilmington, DE. She was born on April 16, 1959 in Camden, NJ, to the late John Carl and Normenia R. Fike Sowers.
She worked as a security guard. She loved photography, and took many pictures of the birds, animals and wildlife, for she also loved nature and its beauty. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she went all out, decorating to fullest, in celebration. She also had a love for music of all kinds, and was known to have an extensive collection of vinyl records, which she would listen to often.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Manko, Jr.; sons, John Edward Sowers, of Malvern, PA, and Joseph Randolph Manko, of New Castle, DE; a brother, Bill Sowers, of AL; and a sister, Barbara Hubbert and her husband, Walter, of New Castle, DE.
Services will be held at 11AM on Friday, October 16, 2015 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Friends and family may visit 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the funeral home and one hour prior on Friday. Burial will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.
