John Gordon Vanormer

John Gordon Vanormer, age 71, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026. He was born in Springfield, PA on May 12, 1954 to the late Lawson Wallace Vanormer and Edna (Varques) Vanormer.

John truly lived life his way. With his larger-than-life personality he knew and was known by more people that could be counted. He was known to love a cold beer and a good time: so much so that he was affectionately known as “Coors Lite John” and everyone seems to have a “John” story to tell.

He loved boating, crabbing, fishing, and all things water related. His favorite time was toward the end of the season when there were fewer people and more wildlife around. He will be remembered for his love of the Chesapeake Life Style and countless memories on and around the water. John’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing his path and truly got to know him.

John is survived by his sister, Vicki McFadden, and his brother, Lee Vanormer, and his wife, Teresa; and six nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Chesapeake City VFW on March 22, from 2 to 6.
