Jeffry O’Neill, 59, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 with his loving wife, Judy by his side. Jeffry was born in Syracuse, New York and was predeceased by his parents, Frank O’Neill and Estelle Lindsley O’Neill.
Jeff grew up in Syracuse and lived there for many years. He was a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and attended Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. He enlisted into the United States Coast Guard where he served for four years. Jeff spent many years working at Mannington Mills in New Jersey.
Jeff was an avid golfer (he had 3 holes in one) and softball enthusiast. He was a passionate fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Phillies and Syracuse University Basketball. He was also a PADI certified scuba diver and an avid rose gardener.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Anderson O’Neill; sister, Karen O’Neill Linderman of Baldwinsville, NY; step-daughter, Jessica O’Neill of Newark, DE; step granddaughters, Sienna and Savannah O’Neill; niece, Jennifer Sebaratnam (Rohan) of Boston, MA; and grand nieces, Emily and Zoe Sebaratnam.
A memorial service will be held at 6pm Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may visit beginning at 5:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the Wounded Warrior Project or to Paws for Life and sent in care of the funeral home.
