Jean A. Lushis, age 80, of Earleville, MD passed away on October 10, 2015. Jean was born in West Hazelton, PA on September 25, 1935 to the late Ignatius and Sophia Witkowski.
Jean worked as a cook for New Castle County, Delaware Public Schools. She enjoyed aqua aerobics at the YMCA in Elkton, MD. Jean was a member of St. Rose of Lima RC Church in Chesapeake City, MD.
She is survived by her husband, Donald V. Lushis of Chesapeake City, MD; sons, Donald V. Lushis, Jr. of Milton, DE., Steven F. Lushis of Federalsburg, MD; daughter, Cynthia A. Buckland of Earleville, MD; grandchildren, Morgan Lushis, Michelle Johnson and Sarah H. Kuhnley and 5 great-grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held 10:00 am on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, MD. 21915. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11:00 am on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St. Rose of Lima RC Church, 301 Lock Street, Chesapeake City, MD 21915 burial to follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to Chesapeake City Ecumenical Association c/o R. T. Foard Funeral Home, PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD. 21911.

My husband and I first met Jean at the WMCA in Elkton where we took water exercise classes together. We feel so blessed to have been immediately accepted into her circle of friends. Jean was one of the sweetest, kindest, most caring women we have ever met, Always smiling and joking, Jean made each day so enjoyable we looked forward to each and every day with her and every following scheduled day at the pool. Our hearts go out to her family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.
