James “Jim” Peter Carruth, age 65, passed away at home October 16, 2018. He was born in Bronx, NY on December 2, 1952 to the late David Scott Carruth and Myrtle Florence Carruth (Reed).

Jim was a retired veteran that served in the United States Army for over 20 years. He was a member of VFW Post 5337 and American Legion Post 128. Jim enjoyed camping, barbeques and watching his favorite football team, the Baltimore Ravens. Jim loved spending time with family and friends drinking beer, especially Budweiser.

Jim is survived by his loving friend and mother of the three eldest children, Connie Johnson; daughter, Jennifer Carruth; son, David Carruth; son, Steven Carruth; son, Kai Carruth; nephew, Michael Hannon; dearest friend and lifelong companion, Ronda McGrady; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his youngest child, Kimberly Carruth (Fecik).

Services for James Peter Carruth will start at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018 at VFW Post 5337, 3705 Pulaski Hwy, Abingdon, MD 21009. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Jennifer Carruth” to help with funeral expenses.
