James “Duffy” A. Heath, Sr., 79, of Elkton, MD, passed away on November 18, 2016. Born on May 31, 1937 in Elkton, MD, he was the son of the late John Arthur and Dorothy Reynolds Heath.
Duffy was a 1955 graduate of Elkton High School. As a young man, he worked as a pin setter at the bowling alley for seven cents a game. He was a well-known auto body man who worked for various body shops in the area, including Purnell’s, Aby’s, and Harrington’s. Using his auto body skills, Duffy built a 1932 Ford truck and named it “Magnolia Springs.” He enjoyed traveling to many car shows, meeting new people, and making lifelong friendships. Duffy was also a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, where he served as an altar boy.
Duffy is survived by his wife, JoAnn Peel Heath, the love of his life, whom he married in 1959; three children: James A. Heath, Jr. (Kathy), John “Jay” Heath (Denise), and Dorothy “Dottie” Reynolds (Dennis); nine grandchildren: James Heath, III, Joseph Heath, Tyler Heath, Charles Heath, Patrick Heath, Elizabeth Heath, Andrew Heath, Olivia Reynolds, and Dennis Reynolds; and one great-grandchild, Kendall Heath.
A celebration of Duffy’s life will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 25, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with a visitation beginning at 12:30pm. Burial will follow at Elkton Cemetery.

Coming into the Peel family was an awakening for a boy that had no siblings. All girls, and he had to be tested by us all. From dirt in his ear by Susie - at the time was about 2 - while he romanced our oldest sister, was just the beginning. We have been fortunate to have so many memories, from the very beginning - at the cottage on Blair Shore, holidays, events, expanding his family and ours - he was with us through it all. His determination to live was front and foremost in recent years, and his children, Dottie, Jimmy and Jay, were there to do whatever was necessary to help him and Joann. I love you all.
