Jaclyn Leah Engman, age 25, of Newark, DE passed away January 26, 2017 at her residence. Born September 6, 1991 in Baltimore, MD, Jackie was the daughter of Ernest Douglas Westbrook and Marcia Lynn Engman.
Jackie graduated from the University of Phoenix with an Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education and was working towards her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Wilmington. She was a bright and talented young woman who at the age of 15 was awarded the “People to People Junior Ambassadors” which gave her the opportunity to travel across Europe. She had a unique sense of humor and loved making people laugh and helping others. She enjoyed camping, going to the beach, singing, and traveling. Her children, Marshall and Courtney where her pride and joy; family was very important to Jackie, whether it was picking on her siblings to get them to laugh, caring for her beloved children, or just catching up with her parents and mom-mom.
Jackie is survived by her son, Marshall Bancroft; daughter, Courtney Blankenship; Father, Ernest Douglas Westbrook; mother, Marcia Lynn Engman and her husband, Mitch Durkee; five sisters: Tara Gray, Tiffany Engman, Alysha Moorfoot, Ruby Durkee, and Brittany Durkee; two brothers: Mitch Durkee and Marc Jones. She is also survived by several other loving family members. Jackie was preceded in death by her brother Morgan Engman.
Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “National Coalition against Domestic Violence” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921.
