Jackie “Jack” Lee Fritts, 86, of Rising Sun, Md, passed away on Wednesday, November 02, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on May 04, 1936, in Mountain City, TN to the late Emanuel Fritts and Hazel Jenkins Fritts. Jack was a lifelong resident of Rising Sun.

Jack graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1954 and retired from Amtrak after 33 years of service.  He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, woodworking, assembling models and was well known for his expertise in repairing small engine equipment.  Jack attended Janes United Methodist Church and he was a Mason with Harmony Lodge #53 of Port Deposit, Md.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Fritts; two sons, Joseph Fritts (Connie) and Jack Fritts Jr. (Dana) both of Rising Sun, Md; daughter Dawn Ragan (Wesley) of Elkton, Md; sister, Joyce Nordstrom (Mike) of Cambridge, Md, as well as 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren whom he adored.

In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his sister, Theresa Wernz.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at R.T Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911 where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held at Brookview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “The American Liver Foundation” and send in care of the funeral home.
