Helen Elizabeth Barrett Coulter of Rising Sun, MD, peacefully passed away at her home on December 28, 2025, at the age of 102. She was born on May 18, 1923, in Rising Sun, MD to the late Clifford and Kathleen Barrett. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, George Coulter, sister, Ruth Kyle, brothers Earl, Harold and Ralph Barrett, and nephews Richard Barrett, Wayne Kyle, John Barrett, and Paul Barrett.

After graduating from Rising Sun High School, Helen completed studies in the field of Business at Goldie Beacom College. Her remaining career was spent working for the US Government, at Aberdeen Proving Ground, until her retirement.

Helen enjoyed dancing to Big Band music with her beloved, George. She also enjoyed volleyball, knitting and crocheting, and was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles.

While she and George had no children of their own, they loved all their nieces and nephews as if they were their own.

Helen was known at West Nottingham Presbyterian church as someone who was faithful, loving, kind, and generous.

A celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00-11:00AM and a visitation starting at 9:30AM at West Nottingham Presbyterian Church, 1195 Firetower Road, Colora, MD. Interment will follow at the West Nottingham Cemetery, and reception at the church hall directly afterwards.
