Heather Michelle Allen, age 33, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015, surrounded by her loving family at Heartland Hospice in Wilmington, DE. The daughter of Daniel and Deborah Allen Thomas, she was born September 2, 1981, in Baltimore, MD.
She was an elegant, feminine woman, always well dressed, made up and manicured; she enjoyed looking her best at all times. She also enjoyed attending dances with her friends, especially Elvis Presley dances on New Year’s Eve. Heather was a big fan of country music, with which she loved to sing along. She participated in the Special Olympics events including bowling. A loving person, she loved all animals, and was fond of babies as well. Heather was known for her infectious smile, room filling laughter and positive attitude; she would change the mood of a room when she entered. Her influences on the people who have known her have helped them to become better people in their own lives. Her biggest joy in life came from loving and being with her family, who will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her parents, Daniel and Deborah Thomas of Elkton, MD along with John Allen Jr. of Fruitland Park, FL. ; brother Thomas John “TJ” Allen of Elkton, MD; sister Dana Thomas of Newark, DE; brother Danny Thomas, Jr., and wife Vanessa, of Elkton, MD; brother Russell Canning and fiancé Stacy of Elkton, MD; brother Jeromy Thomas of Conowingo, MD; grandparents, Jack and Pat Allen of Elkton, MD, and Richard Young of Chestertown, MD; and Francis Young of Elkton, MD; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins, whom she loved. She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Patricia Young Allen.
Family and friends may visit 6-8 PM on Friday, April 24, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PA, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Service will be held 12 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Elkton, 607 Delaware Ave., Elkton, MD 21921 with visitation an hour before from 11-12.
