George W. McCullough, III, age 88 of Mount Pleasant, SC passed away peacefully on December 22, 2016. He was born on June 5, 1928 in Wilmington, DE to the late George W. McCullough, II and Olive E. (Jackson) McCullough.

A loving and devoted husband and father, George lived most of his life in Maryland and enjoyed hunting, bowling and watching or listening to his beloved Baltimore Orioles. Quick to laugh, George left a positive mark on many people’s lives with his kind and gentle spirit. George was a long time member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Newark, Delaware before relocating to South Carolina where he was a member at Christ Church in Mount Pleasant.

George is survived by his wife, Patricia McCullough of Mount Pleasant, SC; son, Steven McCullough and his wife, Stephanie of Mount Pleasant, SC; and three grandchildren: Rachael Benalcazar and her husband, Felipe, Bradley McCullough, and Gabriel Whited.

A service to celebrate George’s life will be held at 10am on Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 276 S College Avenue, Newark, DE 19711. A coffee reception will be held in the Great Hall at the church following the service. Memorials may be made payable to “St. Thomas Episcopal Church” in Newark, DE or “Christ Church” in Mt.
