Freeman Newel Galoff, age 93 of Elkton, MD passed away on August 18, 2016. He was born on August 16, 1923 in Elmwood, WI to the late, Frederick Wilhelm Galoff and Mary (Herpst) Galoff.
After proudly serving his country as an officer in the United States Navy during World War II, he completed his undergraduate degree and became an industrial arts teacher. Furthering his studies and career in the education profession, he earned his Masters and Doctorate degrees. In 1969, Freeman accepted the position of Dean of Students for Cecil Community College, where he remained until his retirement in 1995. In 1971 , Freeman was given an Outstanding Educator of America Award. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and enjoyed working with wood.
Freeman is survived by his children: Pamela Emery and her husband, Tim of Bristow, VA ; James Galoff and his wife, Jessica of Middletown, DE; Penny Galoff and her husband, Mark Beitler of Elkton, MD; son, and five grandchildren: Jessica Galoff, Hayden Emery, Amanda Emery, Mary Beitler, and Sarah Beitler.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Beverly Solberg Galoff; and two brothers: Fred and Robert Galoff.
