Elsie Marie Mann slipped quietly away at home on September 10, 2017 at the age of 80. Marie was a retired bookkeeper and for many years served as the pianist/organist at the First Presbyterian Church in Chesapeake City. She enjoyed playing the violin, needlepoint, knitting, reading, cooking, and baking. She was well known for her delicious and extensive array of Christmas cookies. Marie was also a talented artist. In addition to her other abilities, she held a pilot’s license for small aircraft.

Marie is preceded in death by a daughter Mary Dawn Mann, a granddaughter Christine Marie Alexander, a great-granddaughter Christine Lynn Caleb and a great-grandson Michael Unsworth. Marie is survived by her daughter and caregiver Elisabeth Hope Wadkins and fellow caregiver John Dukes, great-granddaughter and caregiver Kerstin Marie Wadkins, daughters Martha Joy Mann and Rebecca Gay Mann, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. A grateful “Thank You” is extended to all of those who visited with Marie, allowing her primary caregivers a respite. There are simply too many caring individuals to name.

Marie will be greatly missed by family and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held, Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 4:00pm at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921 with a visitation beginning at 3:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5-7:00pm at 208 Biddle Street, Chesapeake City, MD 21915.
