Earl Wayne Gore, age 82, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 28, 1942, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Earl was the son of the late Bayne Sylvester Gore and Moncie (Gray) Gore.
Earl was a hardworking man with a strong work ethic, dedicating thirty-two years to Chrysler Corporation before his well-earned retirement. Never one to sit still, he also worked part-time as a driver for local legend, Rodeo Earl Smith, one of Cecil County’s most colorful personalities.
Known affectionately as “Mr. Fix-It,” Earl could repair just about anything and never hesitated to lend a helping hand to friends, family, or even strangers. His passion for working on muscle cars was well known, and he took immense pride in his classic Corvette, which he lovingly maintained. Earl’s sense of humor was one of his most defining traits – he was a big joker with absolutely no filter, always ready with a witty remark or a good-natured tease. His lighthearted nature and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Earl was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Jean Gore; his children: Brian Gore, Karen Hollenbaugh (George), Shelly Beane (Kevin), and Steven Gore (Dina); his grandchildren: Jessica Biagianti, Kyrstin Frederick, Klaresa Warneke, Amber Greer, Tyler Beane, Troy Hollenbaugh, Alex Beane, and Danielle Little; as well as several great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his siblings: Clarence Gore, Bayne Sylvester Gore Jr., his twin brother Beryl K. Gore Sr., Juanita Finefrock, and Linda Blevins.
