Earl P. Keller, 93, of Conowingo, MD, passed away at Millcroft in Newark, DE on August 29, 2012.
Born in Adams County, PA on June 3, 1919, Earl was the son of the late Samuel Clarence and Nellie Plank Keller. He attended High School in Catonsville, MD and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1942-46 and was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. His worked in The Ordnance Department at Aberdeen Proving Ground as a technical mechanic from 1940-42 and again from 1946-76. He was an active member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, serving as a trustee, choir member and was instrumental in the church restoration. The family is grateful to the staff at Millcroft and Seasons Hospice.
He is survived by his son, E. Bruce Keller and his wife Patricia of Bear, DE; a granddaughter Kristin Styer and her husband Andrew of Palmyra, PA and a great granddaughter Aubrey Styer. He also leaves behind brothers Richard Keller of Colora and Russell Keller of Port Deposit, MD and a sister Grace Edith Liddel of Port St. Lucie, FL. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Wanda E. Keller who died in March 2012 and his brothers Bernard, Chester, Dale and Jay Keller and his sister Janet Bishop.
A service honoring his life will be held at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, 1713 Liberty Grove Rd., Colora, MD on Saturday September 1, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the church beginning at 10:00. Burial will be in Brookview Cemetery.
