Doris Thelma Thompson of Bear, DE, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. Doris was born on June 4, 1932 in Wilmington, DE to the late William George Lewis and Thelma (Wooleyhan) Lewis.

Doris was a lifetime Delaware resident who grew up on her family’s farm. She loved reading murder mysteries, watching police dramas and loved her Dunkin Donuts coffee. When she was younger, she loved dancing. Doris absolutely loved spending time with her family and she will be lovingly remembered as a feisty and adoring woman.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Nancy Goldstein and her husband, Mark; grandsons: Michael, William and Alexander Rodriguez; granddaughter of her heart, Rachael Maxwell; nieces: Barbara Walters and her husband John, William Lewis III, Jerri Colmery, Carol Sue Lewis; former son-in-law, Ramon Rodriguez. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband William Thompson; siblings: Edward Frank Lewis, William Lewis Jr and Emily Colmery.

A burial for Doris will be held privately at Gracelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care” and sent in care R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home 122 W. Main Street Newark, DE 19711.
