Doris Neighoff, 90, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully Saturday, December 12, 2015.
Born December 4, 1925 in Columbus, OH, Doris was the daughter of the late William Hughes, Sr. and Dorothy (Keller) Bowers. Doris had many jobs in the community throughout her lifetime including being the Cafeteria Manager at Elkton High School, a Toll Collector on the Route 40 Hatem Bridge, an MVA Clerk, and a Clerical Position at Jodlbauer’s Furniture Store. She was an avid reader of novels and she loved spending time with her dogs.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Jowain V. Dougherty and her husband, George, of Newark, DE; 2 sons, Alan M. Reasin and wife June of Conowingo, MD and Charles F.A. Reasin and wife Nancy of Elkton, MD; 2 step sons, Irvin T. Neighoff, Jr. and Tony H. Neighoff; 3 brothers, William “Butch” Hughes, Jr., Jerry Hughes, and George Hughes, all of Richmond, VA; and sister, Cheryl Barrett of Richmond, VA. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Irvin T. Neighoff.
A Celebration of Doris’s Life will be held at 7:00pm on Friday, December 18, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may visit beginning at 6:00pm and also following the service until 8:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and sent in care to R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A
