Dear Nina and Amy, I know the sadness you and your family have right now. Please let me know if you need to talk about this loss as you know we lost my father one year ago. Your mom is at peace and will always be with you. I am away for a few days and cannot attend your memorial services but my thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through the ritual of saying goodbye. You are a beautiful person and I know the love and sacrifices you went through to keep her comfortable during her last days. Be at peace. Janice Malloy

When I think of my Nana, I can't help but think about all of the fond memories I have about the wonderful works of art she would turn out in the kitchen. Whether it was chocolate mousse, chicken dijon, or my personal favorite, pear hazelnut torte. However, what I would much rather write about now is something that has influenced me much more deeply than any one thing I could talk about. While I may not spend as much time consciously thinking about it, I cannot help but reflect on the stellar example that my Nana has set for me - not only in the culinary arena, but in how to live your life. In all of the time I have spend with her, I cannot think of a single memory when Nana ever treated someone with anything less than the full amount of kindness, respect, and most importantly, love than they deserved. This is the most important example that could have been set for me, and I can only hope to live my life in such a way that people can see a little bit of Nana in everything I do.

It is impossible for me to pin down a single time as my best with Nana- she was an incredibly important part of my life for almost three decades. She was a major part of so many memories, and will be missed by many in a way few are. We hope to honor her memory by entertaining graciously, loving with all our hearts, and cooking like it is going out of style.

Amy, Maria, Nina and Mr Buckingham, I am so saddened to hear of such a loss. I'll miss our visits together but have the fond memories of those in the past, from talking about food and baking to all of the children and grandchildren. I 'll have those happy memories to keep, as I am sure you will too. My thoughts and prayers to all of you and your extended family. Love, Nancy
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Sadly, I never got to know your mom, Amy, but I can see from the pictures and memories that you have shared what a warm, caring person she was. Plus she gave birth to a such a tremendous, strong daughter. You are a great mom and obviously had a great teacher. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
