Donald Edward Goodchild, age 76 of Newark, DE passed away on October 28, 2022. He was born on April 8, 1946, in Wilmington, DE to the late Francis M. Goodchild and Luva E. (Pickreign) Goodchild.
Donald was a simple man who enjoyed listening to country music. He loved to hunt deer and enjoyed cooking. He will be missed by many family and friends.
Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pauline Goodchild; siblings: Gladys Kline, Gerald Goodchild, Gloria Mahaffey (Robert), John Goodchild, Linda Cahall (Larry), Catherine Coe (Ernie), Harold Goodchild (Barbara Foraker), Mary Mackie, Sharon Kester (Berle), and Authur Goodchild (Sarah).
He is preceded in death by his children: Melvin Goodchild, Marvin Goodchild, and Ronnie Allen Goodchild; brothers: Marvin Goodchild and Francis Glen Goodchild; and sister, Loretta Murray.
Donald’s celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Family and friends may attend the viewing beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Cherry Hill Cemetery.
