Dawn Lynn Sexton (49) of Elkton, MD, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023.  Born on December 26, 1973, in Elkton, Maryland, she was the loving daughter of Betty Jean (Osborne) Sexton and the late Walter Steve Sexton, Jr.

Dawn had a passion for writing and was always jotting her thoughts down in her journal or sending notes to family and friends. Her family fondly remembers her confident nature and how she was never afraid to speak her mind. She enjoyed going to the beach and always had a cooler full of Sweet Tea and Pepsi Cola. Most importantly, spending time with family and friends brought her the most happiness and the biggest smiles. Dawn will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dawn is survived by her mother, Betty Jean Sexton; brother, Richard Sexton (Danielle); and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dawn is preceded in death by her father, Walter Steve Sexton, Jr. and brother, Steve Sexton.

A Celebration of Dawn’s Life will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at  3:00 PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends may begin visiting at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “Maryland Special Olympics” in care of the funeral home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
