David R. Foraker, 79, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 3, 2016.

Born May 17, 1937 in Wilmington, DE, David was the son of the late Earl Winfield Foraker, Sr. and Mary Anna (Willard) Foraker. David’s enjoyed watching old Western movies and wood crafting but his primary passion was fishing. He loved salt water fishing and spending time on his boat, “Kountry Kat”, in the Delaware Bay. David was a simple man who enjoyed a good cup of coffee, a decent cigarette, and a worthy conversation with his family and friends.

David is survived by his daughters, Loura Jane Grove and her husband, Mark of Conowingo, MD and Deborah Smith-Freso and her husband, William of Bear, DE; son, James Robert Smith and his wife, Marie of Newark, DE, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his loving wife, Beatrice Mae Foraker and his three siblings, Earl, Charles, and Earleen.

Services in David’s honor will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may visit beginning at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made payable to the: “State of Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife” with memo “Take A Kid Fishing” and send in care of the funeral home.
