Cynthia Jean Secor, 76, of Elkton, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026. Born on May 4, 1949, in Elkton, she was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Martha Ann Nichols.
Cindy dedicated over 30 years of her professional life as an Insurance Agent with Garvice C. Sligh Agency. Outside of work, Cindy embraced the joys of home and family life. She enjoyed boating with friends from the Upper Chesapeake Yacht Club and found peace tending to her flower garden, where her love for color and beauty was always on full display. She took great pride in her home, often refreshing her décor and rearranging furniture to create welcoming and comfortable spaces. Decorating was more than a hobby—it was her way of expressing creativity and making her house truly feel like home.
Cindy had a special fondness for cats and lovingly cared for many throughout her life. Her beloved “Little Kitty” held a particularly special place in her heart. She was also known for her unique sense of style, often seen wearing fashionable hats and eye-catching jewelry. Purple was her signature color, and many of her favorite outfits reflected her love for its rich, vibrant shades.
In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband, Jerry Secor, who passed away in 1982 and her longtime companion, Dave Wright, Sr., who passed away in 2018.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Karli Secor and her wife, Tanya Gressley; her brother, Don Nichols and his wife, Mina; her sister, Pamela Russell; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
