Kevin Duffy left a message on October 5, 2019:
I met Charlie at JB McGinnes when he was shooting photos of a friend's band, and eventually he shot photo of my band(s) too and a friendship was born. Along with photography, Charlie loved all things aviation and he spent over 100 hours with me as I piloted my Cessna 172 to several different airports with diners, where we enjoyed many great breakfasts, lunches and dinners together. Both of us being veterans, we would spend Veteran's Days traveling around together grabbing up the free meals at many of the restaurants that offered them. We attended countless concerts together including Paul McCartney twice in 6 days and Rush R40, when we rode up to Philly with NO tickets, and got lucky enough to get them at the box office on the day of the show. With Charlie's passing, there is a void and emptiness in my life that NO ONE will ever be able to fill. Dearly loved and sadly missed. Rest in Peace Charlie my friend, until we meet again.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Charlie, you were a kind face in the crowd and a comfort to sit next to anytime we ran into each other out and about listening to music. I give thanks for our conversations, our love for local musicians, and the mystery that comes with faith- even when it doesn't make any sense. I will be holding your memory close on Monday and will pray for your family members and friends as we continue to grieve your loss in our lives. Rest in peace and rock on in glory! Ginny+

I hadn't seen Charlie since high school and then I started seeing him at different open mikes I performed at maybe starting five years ago. He told me he was sick a year or so ago. He was a good guy, I'm glad he got into the hall of fame before he passed. Ira Dale Coover

Charlie, we met as our son married Caitlin, your niece. You were doing your usual, taking wonderful photos of us at the wedding rehearsal. We then got more acquainted at family gatherings and remained FB friends. We had just arrived in Maryland when you had your fall last year and were in the hospital and we got chance to come and visit you in March this year as you recovered. Since that time your health declined but your spirit stayed strong. You were such an encourager to many and a great and loyal friend and you loved your family dearly. After suffering in your illness you can now rejoice in heaven, free of pain! Until we meet again in glory. RIP Charlie x Love from the Egan family in Manchester UK
