Charles A. Mason, age 69, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home on September 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on November 30, 1955, in Philadelphia, PA, Charlie was the cherished son of the late Edward Mason and Elizabeth (née Neuman) Mason. He was a devoted husband of forty-seven years to Deborah (née Lonergan) Mason, with whom he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Charlie was a skilled Hydro Electric Engineer, working for General Electric. His expertise took him across the country, as well as closer to home at the Conowingo Dam, until his well-earned retirement. A proud Philadelphia native, he remained a lifelong fan of the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers.
Charlie loved fishing with his sons and grandsons. In his spare time, he was a talented carpenter, always working with his hands. Known for his sense of humor, warm smile, and habit of giving nicknames to those around him, Charlie brought joy wherever he went. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Mason; his children: Jenny Mason and husband Patrick Little Jr., Ashley Mason, John Mason and fiancée Kaylee Lambert, and Charles Mason Jr.; grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Charlie III, Joey, Justin, Brooke, Erik, Aiden, Patrick lll, Michael, and Johnny; great-grandchildren: Maria, Elye, and Charles IV; brother, Billy Mason and wife Betsy; sister Eileen Hillman and late husband Bobby; and sister Janice Pilaitis and husband Bobby.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie and Danny Mason and sister-in-law Linda.
A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 12:00 pm at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, Maryland. Family and friends are invited to visit beginning at 11:00 am.
