Chance Blake Moore, 25, of Rising Sun, Maryland, passed away on November 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 26, 2000, in Newark, Delaware, he was the cherished son of Otto Moore and Kristin (Anderson) Moore.
Chance was born with muscular dystrophy, but he never allowed it to diminish his spirit. He lived with a joyful, exuberant nature and a sharp wit that brightened every room he entered. His sense of humor was one of his greatest gifts, often lifting the hearts of those around him.
A true lover of games and technology, Chance enjoyed spending time on his Xbox and PlayStation, where he found both entertainment and connection. He also had a lifelong passion for cars. Whether he was tinkering in the garage with his brother or identifying the make and model of a passing car solely by its sound—an ability that astonished everyone—Chance’s enthusiasm for automobiles was unmistakable.
He had a deep affection for animals. His beloved pug, Bailey, who predeceased him, held a special place in his heart. He also cared for his bearded dragon, Charlie, as well as several turtles, each of which he tended to with great devotion. Some of his happiest moments were spent in Western Maryland at his grandparents’ camper, a place he eagerly looked forward to visiting and where he enjoyed peace, family, and the outdoors.
Above all, Chance was deeply loved. His gentle heart, humor, and resilience touched everyone who knew him, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be measured.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Bill Powers, great-grandmother Judy Anderson, and his grandfather, Roger Moore, Sr.
Chance is survived by his mother, Kristin Moore; father, Otto Moore; his siblings: Brayden, Bronson, and Missy Moore. He also leaves behind his grandparents: Robert and Robin Anderson, Donna Moore, great-grandmother Shirley Powers along with extended family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. My mom has had her hands filled taking care of my siblings, especially my brother Brayden who was born with my disease. My dad always stopped on his way home from work to say hi.
“Mom-Mom” gave me her greatest gift and that was the care she gave me for over 15 years. She was my lifeline, mentor, friend, and confidant. Her love carried me through life’s challenges all the days on this earth.
“Pop-Pop” was my best friend, a partner in crime. One of the best memories was babe watching in Ocean City for my yearly birthday trip. I could always count on Pop-Pop to make sure my wheels kept rolling even when my hands were tired.
In accordance with Chance’s wishes, all services will be held privately by the family.
