Catherine Ruth Lammy (nee Trombetti), 71, of North East MD, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family after a short illness with lung cancer.
Born in West Chester, PA to John and Julia (nee Lang) Trombetti, Cathie was the oldest of 6 children. Cathie earned her GED and Bachelor of the Arts from Immaculata University while in her 40s and raising 4 children. Until her recent illness, Cathie was working toward her Master’s degree in Psychology.
Cathie married her soul mate, William Lammy Sr, on June 13, 1981. Together they created a life of joy, support, and endless love for their family. In addition to Bill Sr, Cathie is survived by her children Bill Lammy Jr, Wendy (Michael) Stevenson, and Tracy (Michael) Harvey; her grandchildren Rachel, Christian, Zachary, Kayla (Jerry), and Izabella; her great grandchildren Amity and Liliana; and her beloved dog Charley. Cathie has been reunited with her oldest son, Duane Tillman, her siblings Margie, John, and Judy, and her parents John and Julia.
In addition to her family, Cathie’s greatest passions include gardening, tending her Koi pond, decorating her 100-year old house, and supporting her community through drug and alcohol counseling. Cathie’s yard was recently certified as a Wildlife Refuge. Cathie is known for her quick wit and blunt advice and has positively impacted hundreds of people in North East and the surrounding communities with her outreach. Cathie is also the queen of whimsy, always ready with a silly song and dance and a nickname for every animal that visits her yard.
A celebration of life will be held in the Spring when flowers are blooming and the sun is shining, as it will take several months to plan a celebration befitting such an amazing wife, mother, and friend. To honor her breast cancer survivorship, memorial donations may be made payable to “Unite For HER” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
