Catherine “Cathy” Marie Kershaw of Newark, DE, age 65, passed away peacefully Friday, November 16, 2018 after a short battle with colon cancer. She was born on November 3, 1953 in Opelika, AL to the late Walter Tucker Conway and Catherine (Lambert) Conway.

Cathy was passionate about her career at DuPont where she worked for over 40 years, both as an employee and contractor, having designed a variety of materials that were used locally and worldwide. She enjoyed singing, crocheting, and going on her “excellent adventure” driving trips. Cathy exhibited the spirit of Christmas all year and especially loved to watch her favorite team play, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 41 years, William C. Kershaw; daughter, Kelly Paustian (Nate); grandson, Jackson; five brothers: John Conway, Sr. (Debbie), Walt Conway, Jr. (Cathy), Bill Conway, Sr. (Carol), Joe Conway, Sr. (Diane) and Mike Conway (Patsy); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents.

A family organized memorial celebration of life will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Newark Senior Center, 200 Whitechapel Drive, Newark, DE 19713, where friends and family may begin visiting at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Cathy’s memory to Heartland Hospice House, 5661 Ocheltree Lane, Wilmington, DE 19808, where she spent her last days being cared for by some of the kindest, strongest, most amazing people.

I remember Cathy attending one of her daughter Kelly's comedy shows and laughing and laughing. She was great fun that night and her pride in her daughter was obvious.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to her family.

Cathy was a wonderful person who will be missed by many at DuPont. We worked together many years - she was always going that extra mile to help us. Our hearts reach out to and with you in sympathy as she moves on to the next phase of life...1 Cor 15; 44 - 57. Blessings

Cathy and I shared the same office when she started work at Du Pont. We car pooled for a while and became friends. We both moved on to different jobs and lost touch. She was a very special woman and will be missed.
