Carol Ferry Geesaman

July 15, 1927 - December 31, 2018

Carol Ferry Geesaman of Elkton, MD, age 91, passed away Monday, December 31, 2018. She was born in Newark, DE on July 15, 1927 to the late Bradford Ferry and Frances (Moore) Ferry.

Carol married the love of her life, Arthur F. Geesaman, Jr. in 1947. They were married for 62 years before his death in April of 2009. Carol raised her four children before going back to school, graduating from St. Frances Nursing School in her 40’s. She went on to work as a licensed practical nurse at St. Francis Hospital until her retirement. Carol enjoyed scrap booking, baking and being “Nurse Carol” to the entire family. Her most cherished time was spent playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carol is survived by four sons: Brad (Leslie) Geesaman of Fair Hill, MD, Curt (Sherry) Geesaman of Smyrna, DE, Jeff (Melissa) Geesaman of FL, and Art (Connie) Geesaman of Fair Hill, MD; four grandchildren: Cory (Heather) Geesaman of PA, Kelly Geesaman of Elkton, MD, Jennifer (Pete) Campbell of Smyrna, DE, Robert (Christine) Geesaman of Smyrna, DE; five great-grandchildren: Nicholas Campbell, Shane Campbell, Conner Geesaman, Raymond Geesaman and Alaina Geesaman.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur F. Geesaman, Jr., three brothers: Daniel Ferry, Robert Ferry and William Ferry; and sister, Judy Stephon.

A family organized memorial service in Carol’s honor will be held at a later date. Please check back for updates.

Dear Aunt Carol: I called you today to tell you that mom is in hospice care. Like so many times before your advise and guidance has been invaluable to me since I've been caring for her. When I called your number I got the "your number can not be completed as dialed". After calling again and goggleing your name I faced the unthinkable and googled "Carol Geesaman Obituary". Up came a black and white picture of a younger you in your white nurses hat and uniform. The awful realization hit hard. Neither one of us is a stranger to the loss of a loved one. Still, the inner child can't believe that grown ups are not super heroes and will live forever. You have even survived devastating illness. You did say you were a" tough old bird". I will add wise and loving. Well goodbye Aunt Carol. I will miss you forever. I love you. Bobby

I am so Sorry to here of Carols passing!! I will miss you Miss Carol!! We had some Good times!! Love to all!!

I worked with Carol at St. Francis Hospital. She was a wonderful person and a great nurse. My sympathy for your loss.
