BRIAN JOHN READ

Aged 90 Years

BORN: Luton, Bedfordshire United Kingdom – 26^th February 1935

DIED: Newark, Delaware – 20^th August 2025

Brian died peacefully in his sleep on the 20^th  August 2025

Brian had been married for 65 years to his loving wife Joy, who was by his side when he passed away.

Brian was an avid sailor for over 40 years. He was a wonderful woodworker – making beautiful pieces of furniture. Brian was also an enthusiast of Classical music.

Brian was also a volunteer Tax preparer through AARP — helping folks with their taxes.

After he gave up sailing he took up driving “Little British cars”, of which a TR6 was his Pride and Joy.

Brian started working for George Kent in the United Kingdom, who were Industrial Instrument manufacturers.

He then worked for Du Pont for 25 year in the United Kingdom. In 1989 he emigrated to the USA and worked for Du Pont and Ametek in their Instruments division.

At Brian’s request he was cremated, and the funeral was private.

A ceremony to celebrate Brian’s life will be held at a later date.
