







Billie June Edwards, age 78, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 of natural causes. Born on October 30, 1938 in Moody, TX, she was the daughter of the late Duke and Eva Mae (Denny) Cordell.
Billie worked for many years as a waitress in both the York, PA and North East, MD areas. After much hard work, she opened Billie’s Chuck Wagon Restaurant in North East, MD, operating it for 20 years. She also owned the Susquehanna Inn in Conowingo, MD and B&D Trucking in Rising Sun, MD. Always a business woman, Billie took pride in making sure her customers were well fed. Billie enjoyed old western movies, western novels, gardening, and relaxing on the beach in Fenwick Island, DE.
Billie is survived by her husband of 18 years, David S. Edwards; son, Steve Jackson; daughters: Garnette Martin and Shanna Blackmer; step-son, Scott Edwards; step-daughters: Marie Foster and Sherry Day; six grandchildren: Aidan, Jessica, Courtney, Jenny, Andrea, and Laura; and six great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Billie will be held from 6-8pm on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD, 21911. A celebration of Billie’s life will be held at 11am on Monday, April 3, 2017 at the funeral home, with a visitation beginning at 10am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “American Liver Foundation” and sent in care of the funeral home, PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
