Barbara “Ann” Connon

Barbara “Ann” Connon, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on February 5, 2021 at the age of 89. She was temporarily living in Florence, AZ with her daughter and passed away peacefully in her sleep. Ann was the daughter of the late Katherine and Samuel Leonard born on May 5, 1931. She was the wife of the late Charles E. Connon. Ann is survived by her children, Catherine Degazelle (husband Robert) Yorklyn, DE, Patience Connon (husband Mike) Kansas City, MO, Leonard Connon, (wife Lisa) Olympia, WA David Connon (wife Louisa), West Chester, PA Nanette Willgruber (husband Rick) King of Prussia, PA Bridget Sneddon, Florence, AZ, Kelly Sundberg (husband Mark), Mt Vernon, WA Kerry Patrick (husband Tom), Rising Sun, MD, Kimberly Stout, Bellingham WA. Ann is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Sisters Ellen Baker, Limerick PA , Sally Merworth, West Chester, PA, Jane Etter, Cherry Hill, NJ, and brother Dick Leonard (wife Carol) of Royersford, PA. Pre-deceased by sister Kitty Adair of Gary, Indiana and brother, Larry Leonard.

Ann was born at home in Manoa, PA in Delaware County. Graduated from Springfield High School. Ann was an active member of Alanon for over 57 years where she was a great inspiration, respected and loved by all who knew her. She was very devoted to helping teenagers with family members affected by drug and alcohol addiction through her involvement in Alateen groups. Ann loved gardening, reading, and she was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will managed by R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, Newark, DE. Date of Memorial service will be announced in the future.
