Audrey G. Mack, age 88, of Middletown, DE, and formerly of Melody Meadows and Fountain View Condos, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2015 surrounded by her loving family in Middletown, DE. She was born in Glen Richey, PA, on December 9, 1926, to the late Rosslyn and Beatrice Frederick Lewis.
Audrey served her country as a member of the U.S. Navy where she was a secretary. She would use the skills her entire life, working at the University of Delaware, and later, Delmarva Power, from which she retired. She loved to sing, and sang in many different chorus’ over the years, and enjoyed listening to music as well. Her favorite was Josh Groban. Audrey loved to watch Steve Harvey on the television, and sports, where she enthusiastically rooted for the Eagles. She enjoyed bird watching, and will be missed dearly by her animal friends, Hunter and Hanna.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Hathaway Willis, and her husband, Mitchell, her caretaker and with whom she lived in Middletown, DE; a son, William Hathaway, Jr., of Newport, VT.; daughter, Paula Hathaway Drummond, and her husband, Larry, Sr., of Elkton, MD; son, Greg Hathaway, and his wife, Tine’, of Lyman, NH; and 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Alan Mack, and daughters, Judith Ann Coleman, and Sharon Gooden.
Services will be held at 3PM on Saturday, November 14, 2014 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Friends and family may visit one hour prior beginning at 2PM. Burial will be held privately at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
