William “Bill” Robert Wadkins, age 63, of Chesapeake City, MD passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023. He was born on August 27, 1959, in Barre, VT to William Gene Wadkins and the late Audrey Jean (Covey) Wadkins.

“Simple Man” was one of Bill’s favorite songs as Bill was just that, a simple man. He loved keeping himself occupied as he went fishing, crabbing, and hunting for deer, geese, rabbits, and squirrels often. Bill had many interests in his life, like being a New York Yankees and Seattle Seahawks fan but he was also an avid knife collector. He was a 1977 graduate of Bohemia Manor High School. After completing school, Bill took great pride in his work as he was employed with St. Augustine Roofing and Siding and later, Bill Wadkins Contracting. More than anything in the world, Bill loved being with his grandchildren and children. Shopping for dresses, especially holiday dresses, for his girls will be a memory that will be cherished forever. He always had the final say. Bill will be missed by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Dayne Emory Wadkins; daughters: Sarah Thongvong (Adam) and Audrey Wadkins; grandchildren: Salem Wadkins, Atlas Thongvong, Maddie Wadkins, and Killian Thongvong: father, William Wadkins; and brothers: Michael Wadkins and Stephen Wadkins.

In addition to his mother, Bill is preceded in death by his brothers: Chuckie Wadkins and David Wadkins, Sr. and his nephews: David Wadkins, Jr. and Brian Wadkins.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, MD 21915. Family and friends may attend the viewing beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be held privately.
