Wilbur Blakeley, age 85, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Calvert Manor Health Care and Rehab in Rising Sun, MD. He was born in the Churchville area of Harford County, MD on May 14, 1930 to the late Oliver and Elsie Currie Blakeley.
Wilbur lived in Cecil County most of his life, and was employed by the late Ellis and Mildred Ayers, where he retired as a dairy farmer at the age of 70.
He was a member of the Blythedale Seventh Day Adventist Church, Perryville, MD, where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Yvonne Stevens Blakeley; a daughter Darlene “Neva” Sadler and her husband, Jim, of Port Deposit, MD; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Danny Blakeley, his daughter, Diane Gray, and 13 brothers and sisters.
A service will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, January 6, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Friends and family may visit from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, January 5, 2015 and one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery in Colora, MD.
