Wayne Worrall Connell

April 24, 1938 - May 22, 2023

After graduating from Newark High School in 1956, Wayne worked at Curtis Paper Company for 41 years.

Wayne is survived by his son, Wayne Connell Jr.; daughter, Marie Connell Robb (Brian); his life partner Yanet Lopez; four granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

He enjoyed gardening and fishing, but most of all he loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and hanging out with his friends and family.

Wayne traveled on his Harley included a trip across the United States with his friends Gary Deshong, and Hayward Gregg. He also made trips to Florida, New York, and Skyline Drive, VA. He will always be remembered for his long white hair.

Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “SPCA of Delaware” and sent in care of RT Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.

Marie, so sorry to read of your dad’s passing. The times you spoke of him, he sounded like a good person and an interesting guy. RIP Wayne.

Quick short-term Mr Connell was a long time ( and favorite) customer at Happy Harry's. One day he came up to my counter and said "hey, you got a lady down in cosmetics. I didn't want her to wake up looking at me. Thought I would scare her!" We had a good laugh. Such a nice man. Condolences to family and friends
