Virginia Richards Fineran, 93, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully September 8, 2015 at Calvert Manor Healthcare Center.
Born in Colora, MD, Virginia was the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Alice Tosh Richards. Following her graduation from James Madison University, Virginia taught for four years at the Tome School and for 28 years at Rising Sun Elementary School. She was a member of the Women’s College Club, the Johns Hopkins Club, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Mason Dixon Post 194. Virginia was also a parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Rising Sun.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her cousins, Jane T. Marsteller and family, Betsy T. Hilaman and family, Norman L. Tosh and family and John S. Tosh, Jr. and family, and Joanne T. Tosh; and stepchildren Celeste Para, Edward Fineran and Paul Fineran and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Vincent Fineran who died in 2000.
Graveside services will be held at West Nottingham Cemetery in Colora on Friday September 11, 2015 at 3:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvert Manor Nursing Scholarship Fund and mailed to R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PA., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911.
