Veronica T. Johnson, age 58 of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025. Veronica was born on April 6, 1966, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Robert Jacob Giles, and Gertrude Margarite (Lloyd) Giles.
A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who touched the lives of many with her vibrant spirit and infectious energy. Veronica dedicated her life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Health Care industry. Her compassion and commitment to her patients was a source of comfort and hope to those she served, always treating her patients with the utmost respect and kindness.
Beyond her professional life, Veronica embraced life with an enthusiasm that was truly remarkable. A true “ball of energy,” she had an adventurous spirit that led her to travel all over, exploring new places and cherishing every moment. Veronica also had a flair for the creative. She enjoyed shopping and decorating, always bringing her unique touch to her surroundings. Veronica was a talented dancer, in both ballet and jazz. Her love for dance remained a cherished part of her identity throughout her life. She was also a gifted pianist who played beautifully on the piano given to her by her late father as a young girl. She always had an encouraging word, beautiful smile and infectious laugh that will be carried in the hearts of all who knew her. Veronica will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Veronica is survived by her husband, Stephon B. Johnson Sr.; children: Robert J. Giles II, Stephon B. Johnson Jr., and Lauren K. Johnson-Scott; grandchildren: Stephon B. Johnson III, Gabriel Johnson-Scott, Christian Scott, Jaden Johnson, Julian Johnson, Aviana Johnson, Calliah Giles, Neena Giles, Adriana Giles, and Mackenzie Giles; brother, Julius Smalls; sisters: Brandy Giles, Shanee Giles, Nikki Giles, and Yvette Holloway; uncle, Roger “Butch” Harper; friends: Donald Peyton Sr., Lynette Peyton, Anita Barnes, Bruce Bradwell Sr.
A celebration of Veronica’s life will be held at 11:00 am on February 11, 2025, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 am. A repast will be held by the family after the funeral.
