Tunis “TC” Cole Foltz Jr., age 76, Of Bear, DE passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. He was born in Wilmington, DE on June 29, 1944 to the late Tunis Cole Foltz and Gertrude (Laws) Foltz.
TC was a graduate of Newark High and Del Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served in the US Navy Seabees during Vietnam. He worked for DuPont for over forty years first at the Experimental Station and later at Stine-Haskell. After retirement he taught for 7 years at Hodgson Vo-Tech. He was an active member of St. Georges UMC serving as a Trustee and Chair of the Staff Parish Relations Committee. He was a member of the CAP team at the Delaware City Refinery and volunteered at the Seaman Center in Wilmington. He was a member of the VFW and Elkton Indoor Tennis.
TC was an avid reader and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, his trains and his time at Cedar Shores. He was a long time Chicago Bears fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family especially with his four grandchildren. TC will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
TC is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kristin Otto Foltz; daughter, Beth Ohline and her husband, Erik; son, Jason Foltz and his wife, Kelly; grandchildren: Nathan Foltz, Carter Ohline, Adam Ohline , Lauren Foltz; sister Beverely Kennedy; niece, Jennifer Silberzahn; and many cousins.
A viewing will be held on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm at St. Georges Historic Society, 200 North Main Street, St. Georges, DE 19733. Services will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11:00 am at the St. Georges Historic Society, where friends and family may begin visiting at 10:00am. Burial will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “St. Georges United Methodist Church” and sent in care of the funeral home, 122 West Main Street Newark, DE 19711.
