I was very sad to hear this news. Tom was such a nice person. I met Tom through my Mother who had worked at Terumo and had Tom as a supervisor. My Mom retired in 1998 but I was glad to see Tom at my Mom's viewing in December 2019. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Sue and family, words can't expressed the deep sadness I feel for you and family. Tom was always a happy man who loved going on his many trips with you and family to Aruba. That's one of the happy things he used to talk about and what I remember most about him. When he was promoted, he was thrilled to be the Director of MFG. Sadly, the emptiness the site will feel without him is immense. He was loved by many onsite and respected for his knowledge and dedication to Terumo. He was kind and generous to ALL his associates and colleagues. He will be missed. We are here for you, Sue.

My deepest condolences to Tom's family. I just wanted to share a little story about Tom that I think exemplifies who he was. When I first started at Terumo, a part was discovered with a defect in an assembly area. We had a meeting including supervisors, engineers, and Tom to discuss how to deal with this defect. The group spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out how to salvage some of the parts from the lot, then Tom broke in and asked all of us "Would you want any of these parts used for a device that would be used on you or a loved one?" Tom cut right to the heart of the problem and gave all of us present a realignment of our perspectives. It also gave me a heck of a good impression of him. That's who Tom was. Tom will be sorely missed.
