Theodore J. Hermanns, Sr. (Ted) passed away peacefully on November 27, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 24, 1927 to the late Theodore and Ebba Hermanns in New York, New York.
Ted resided in Chesapeake City, Maryland where he worked as a Fork Lift Operator at Motor Wheel Corporation in Newark, Delaware and then served as a truck driver for D&S Warehouse in Newark, Delaware where he retired in 1997.
Ted had many hobbies. He was an avid collector of model airplanes and trucks. Ted also enjoyed spending time on the Warf in Chesapeake City, Maryland watching ships pass through the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. Ted was a huge animal lover and adored his cat, Bella.
Ted is survived by his sons, Ted Hermanns, Jr. and his wife, Zeta of North East, MD; Bruce Holman and his wife, Jeanine of Smyrna, DE; daughters, Margaret Coalson and her husband, Roy of Cool Ridge, WV; Janice Rash and her husband Robert of Coal City, WV; son in law, Leonard Seither of Cecilton, MD; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jennie M. Hermanns; his second wife, Kathryn Hermanns; father, Theodore Hermanns; mother, Ebba Hermanns; son, David Holman; daughter, Florence Seither; and sister, Ebba Fife.
A funeral service for Ted will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM at R.T Foard Funeral Home, P.A, 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, MD 21915. Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation starting at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. The burial will follow the service to Bethel Cemetery, 312 Bethel Cemetery Road, Chesapeake City, MD 21915.
