Suzanne Marie Lankford Therres (known as “Shugie” by her family and friends), age 55, of Rising Sun, MD passed away suddenly on Monday, April 2, 2018. Born April 1, 1963 in Baltimore, MD, Suzanne was the daughter of Hazel “Leza” Lankford and the late Johnnie L. Lankford.
Suzanne was a multifaceted individual who had a talent for learning many things. She was passionate about her horses and enjoyed riding them. She had a special place in her heart for her cat, Peanut, who helped her through many tough days. She had a lovely singing voice and was also gifted at playing the piano.
Suzanne is survived by her two sons: Gregory Heisey and Alex Lankford; mother, Hazel “Leza” Lankford and her husband, Lloyd Cavey; fiancé, Ralph Walker; sister, Diane Bauer and her husband, John Blatt; niece, Sarah Bauer; two nephews, Sam and Thomas Bauer and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie L. Lankford; maternal grandparents: Jesse and Nancy Ruark and paternal grandparents: Joseph and Illa Lankford.
A celebration of Suzanne’s life will be held at 3PM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911, where family and friends may visit beginning at 2PM. Burial will be held privately.
