Obituary for Shonie Lee Bashore Parrett
On March 7, 2025, Shonie Lee Bashore Parrett, age 78, returned to the loving arms of her husband, James Richard Parrett, who preceded her in death on December 10, 2024. Shonie is preceded in death by her parents: Henry Ward Bashore and Watie Florence Viars, as well as her brothers: John Ward Bashore and Rennard Joseph George II.
Shonie and James leave a legacy with four loving sons: James, Richard, Randall, and Jason, along with devoted daughters-in-law: Caroline, Ida, and Judi, and her sister, Rene Watie Williams. Their grandchildren, Lindsay, Adam, Noah, Geoffrey, and Carlee, were the lights of their lives, and they cherished every moment spent with them.
Later in life, Shonie enjoyed gathering around the dinner table with family and enjoying quiet moments with her beloved pet, Loki, who was her constant companion.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the devotion shown to James and Shonie in their final moments by their niece, Betty “Scrubby” Smith. Her constant support will not be forgotten.
A private burial will take place at a later time, in accordance with Shonie’s wishes.
