Shirley “Irene” Mae Pierce, age 83 of Conowingo, MD passed away on February 13, 2022. She was born on March 22, 1938 in Darlington, MD to the late Barnett Edward Caldwell and Neilia Caroline (Bauguess) Caldwell.

Irene was a lifelong member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and was always running the roads. She traveled across the United States 3 times. Irene had a love for gardening and enjoyed her flowers. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Irene loved going shopping and going out to eat.

Irene is survived by her husband of 36 years, William Lee Pierce; children: Donna Luoto (Daniel), Allen Holman, Cheryl Harris, and Kevin Holman; step children: Cheryl Williams (Dennis), Garry Pierce, Scott Pierce (Pamela), and Jason Pierce (Angie); 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and brother Lawrence Edward Caldwell.

She is preceded in death by her children: Gary Holman and Mark Holman; and sisters: Diane Caldwell and Patricia Farmer.

A celebration of Irene’s life will be held on February 22, 2022 at 11:00AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
