Shirley Ann Pierce, 70, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away unexpectedly at her home on February 15, 2014.
Born in Elkton, MD on September 16, 1943, Shirley was the daughter of the late Bernard (Barney) and Anna Keller. She was a graduate of Rising Sun High School and continued to meet with her classmates on a monthly basis. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant at Harrington Auto Body and recently worked part time at Benjamin’s Store. She bowled in leagues twice a week at Elkton Lanes, with her best friend Mabel Eldreth. Shirley was a member of the Lion’s Club and the Red Hat Society, as well as a fan of NASCAR, the Ravens and Orioles. She was a talented cook and an avid reader. She enjoyed music and supported her son Eric’s band. Mostly, she was a woman devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by them and her many friends.
Surviving are her four sons, Bryan Pierce and his wife Deborah of Clarksville, TN, Eric Pierce and his wife Patty of Rising Sun, Jason Pierce and his companion Monica and Jeremy Pierce and companion Leslie; grandchildren Gregory, Miranda and Addison Pierce, Adam Snyder, Marissa and Madison.
A service honoring her life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Friday February 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Brookview Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Stephanie McNeil Legacy Foundation or Friends of Jacki and mailed to the funeral home.

It`s hard to believe that it has been a year since you left this world to travel on to your next adventure. Life is so precious and time travels so fast, one minute your just a kid trying to figure life out , next thing you know, your married and having children of your own. In your case, you had four lively boys, that have grown up strong. You did well in your life, even though there were times you wondered how you were going to survive. You always had a gift of gab about you and a strong sense to know right from wrong, I thnk that is why you chose to remain single after Manley and focuse on your children. I worked with Shirley at Elkton Fashion on Blue Ball Road. We worked from about 1970 to 1980. At that time I went to work at General Motors where I worked with her husband Manley. After loosing connection with a lot of the people from Elkton Fashion I next ran into her at Harrington Body shop when I had to have some work done on a vehicle I owned. She came to an Elkton Fashion Reunion that I held at the old Swiss Inn. She was a very kind and friendly person. My deepest sympathy to her family.

To Shirley's family, It was so sad for us to learn of Shirley's passing. Living in Maryland we had the fun of car pooling to bowling with Shirley and Mabel. Lots of times we got to visit with Shirley when we stopped at Mabels. And, if she wasn't there, Ken would have us call Shirley to come and have coffee. Such wonderful memories of our times together.
