Samuel James Broomell, age 84 of Jones, Michigan passed away on June 15, 2021. He was born on July 16, 1936 in Elkton, Maryland to the late Oscar Broomell and Ellen (Meadows) Broomell.

 

Samuel was raised in Rising Sun, Maryland. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Samuel worked as a truck driver and enjoyed going to auctions. He was always working on his John Deere Tractors.

 

Samuel is survived by his wife, Barbara (Neely) Broomell; daughters: Sheila Broomell, Karen Broomell, Brenda Broomell, Tina Woods, and Linda Winger; brothers: Richard Meadows, Joe Meadows, and Denny Meadows; sister, Alice Parsons and Mary Ellen Greenleaf; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

A private graveside service will be held at West Nottingham Cemetery at the family’s convenience.

I am so sorry for your Loss!! Sam was the best neighbor! When I saw that he was outside, I would stop by to see how he was. I have missed seeing him doing what he loved doing, His tractors. I sat with him last summer down in Union when he had all his treasures in the US 12 garage sale. He told me about his trailer and that he would stay in it sometimes at swap meets. He really enjoyed talking to people! I will miss him!! My thoughts are with his family!!
