Ruth Ann Wick of Newark, DE, age 84, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021 with her daughters by her side. Ruth Ann was born on November 19, 1936 in Wilmington, DE to the late Randolph Lewis McVey and Vendela S. (Robinson) McVey.
Ruth Ann worked for the Delaware State Police as a secretary for 10 years and then stayed at home to raise her children. Later, she went to work for DuPont as an Administrative Assistant for 14 years and retired in 1998. Ruth Ann loved to knit, crochet and cross stitch and has made a lot of blankets for her grandchildren and also a lot of cross stitching pieces to hang on the walls. She also enjoyed reading. Ruth Ann absolutely loved her faithful companion, Buster.
Ruth Ann is survived by her daughters: Robyn Radcliffe and her husband, Tim, Denise Smith Lester and her husband, Darren; grandchildren: Scotty Radcliffe and his wife, Megan, Kevin Radcliffe, Benjamin Smith and Alexandra, Abby Smith and Chandler, Kaylee Lester, and Ryan Lester; great grandchildren: Bryn Radcliffe and Emily Radcliffe and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ruth Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wick; and her brothers: James and Robert McVey.
Services for Ruth Ann will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
