Roy Gordon Cole, age 93, was born on July 20, 1931 in Rising Sun, MD. He passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Lorien Bulle Rock Care Facility. He was the son of the late George and Verner (Troxel) Cole.
Mr. Cole was a welder at Wiley’s Shipyard in Port Deposit, MD, for 21 years and worked at Firestone Plastics for Allied Maintenance in Perryville, MD. He later retired from Chester County Council Boy Scouts as a Camp Ranger-Maintenance Worker.
Mr. Cole is survived by his brother, Kenneth Cole (Nancy); son, Roy Dale Cole (Wanda Cover; one granddaughter and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Matleen (Powers) Cole; son, Ronald Dean Cole; brothers: Raymond Cole, Robert Cole, and Charles Cole; and sister, Doris Groff Cole.
Mr. Cole loved hunting, fishing, crabbing, and making things for friends and family.
A celebration of Mr. Cole’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 11AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Family and friends may attend the visitation beginning at 10AM. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery.
