Ronald A. Marking, 76, of Newark, DE, passed away unexpectedly at his home August 1, 2015.
Born in Milwaukee, WI on July 4, 1939, Ron was the son of the late Anthony and Ruth Goetzinger Marking. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Marianne Marking. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee with a degree in physics. He helped fund his college education with his musical talent. Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and taught at the Navy Nuclear Power School in Bainbridge, MD, worked for 23 years in the Department of Defense and later in the private sector for numerous companies. He enjoyed flying and had a private and commercial pilot license. He faithfully followed current events. Ron was a member of St. Thomas More Oratory in Newark, DE.
Surviving are sons, Keith Marking and his wife Thelma of Elkton, MD, Karl Marking of Coatesville, PA.; Larry Countryman of San Jose, CA and ; two daughters, Lisa Julian and her husband James of Finksburg, MD; Sharon Crisler and her husband Michael of Bel Air, MD, and his former spouse and high school sweetheart Peggy Marking of Elkton; and four grandchildren; Kurt Marking, Meredith Crisler, Graham Crisler and Lindsay Crisler.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Oratory, 45 Lovett Ave., Newark, DE 19711 on Saturday August 8, 2015 at 10:30 am. Burial will be private. The family asks that donations be made in his memory to The American Legion. To send condolences visit www.rtfoard.com.
